Samsung Galaxy S III Has Android™ 4.0 ICS, 1.4GHz Quad-Core CPU, 4.8″ Display, 4G LTE, 8MP Camera Unveiled
Samsung added an new smart phone to its super speed, fashioned and highly appreciated Galaxy S family. Today, Samsung unveiled Galaxy S III which has 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED, 8 megapixels camera,1.9 megapixels front face camera, 1GB RAM, 4G LTE and of course the latest Android™ 4.0 named Ice Cream Sandwich. Galaxy S III will be available at the end of May, 2012 for sale. I am planning to get one and If I do, it will be my first Android hand set.
As this new Galaxy S III has better specifications and more features compared to its predecessors as well as other available smart phones in the market, it looks like it will set sale records by non-fruit and non-American company. You should know that because of Galaxy smart phone family, Samsung took the first place as mobile vendor by defeating Nokia. Nokia was at first place for almost 13 years and they defeated Motorola. If Nokia could have Android in its smart phones, it would have been better for Nokia. Analysts said and recommend this but Nokia is blind and deaf though it should not be. BTW, the video on YouTube is great and you will see some new features which are not available in any phone. Do not forget to watch it.
Display: This new Galaxy S III 4.8-inch screen is quite bigger than Galaxy S II 4.3-inch. Now it looks more like Samsung Galaxy Note aka Phablet instead of standing in it own family Galaxy S. I was expecting 4.5-inch screen size but 4.8 inch screen size is huge. Galaxy S II was already covering the one side of face. Its Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen has 16M colors, 720 x 1280 pixels, 306 ppi. You can record 1080p HD video recording.
Network Support: Galaxy S III quad-core Cortex-A9 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz. It supports 2G Network: GSM 850/900/1800/1900, 3G Network: HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100, 4G Network LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot. At first it will be available in two colors, pebble blue and marble white and buyers can have other color option in near future. It has Bluetooth v4. SIII can support upto 64GB of memory.
What Prevents Me: Though specs shows Galaxy S III is great addition to Android phones family and I am also making my mind to buy it but there are a few reasons which may prevent me from buying it. The screen is too big to use. Though I have big hands and I can manage to use it but it will not be comfy all the time.
Listening phone calls will also be a drama. It will cover one whole side of your face. It may give stress to hand muscles during calls or single handed use. Galaxy S II size was quite OK and in fact best suited for men hands. This big screen is OK to create some graphics and play with camera but it should not be forgotten that mobile phones basic purpose is calling and not playing. If Apple comes with 4.1″ or 4″ screen size, they will get more than their max expectations. So Samsung, this is the time to think.
With this big screen, you have totally kicked a big portions of world’s population. I am talking about women. You can not say it is just designed for men.
It is quite old to have 1GB RAM in smart phone and maximum 64GB space. Phones are getting quad-core CPUs, mobile apps are becoming more heavy, displays are getting better and better, Graphics needs better and speedy show up and many other improved things which demands more RAM. They what the heck RAM is not increasing and 64GB is not becoming 128 GB.
